The Healing Weekend organiser Elaine Fenton admitted being “quite moved” by the sight of the sea of visitors flowing through the gates as visitors came from far and wide to experience three days of magic in the heart of the Somerset countryside at Secret World in East Huntspill on 10-12 July.

“We had some 3,500 visitors across the three days, not only from up and down Great Britain but also including some from as far away as Australia, Dubai and other parts of Europe,” Elaine said. “We also had coaches bringing groups from Wales and the Midlands.”

“The camping area sold out 10 days in advance, and we understand that most of the bed and breakfasts in the area were full; so overall the Healing Weekend has proven to be a really great event for Somerset.”

Elaine, who runs the event with international healer and hypnotherapist Ron Tropman, said the weekend had “exceeded all our expectations in terms of visitor numbers, enthusiasm, positive energy and enjoyment.”

“I think everyone can see that this is a high-quality event that runs very smoothly. We had more than 180 exhibitors showcasing holistic experiences, the art world and the environment, 90 workshops, talks and performances and evening shows.”

As well as bringing ‘healers’, healing organisations, spiritual workers, holistic businesses and friends together in the spirit of togetherness and harmony, The Healing Weekend raises important funds for Secret World and increases the awareness of the charity’s work.

“The Healing Weekend is now firmly established as one of the major events of its kind in the UK,” Elaine said, adding that the event honours and remembers the life and work of Bill Harrison, who passed away in 2008.

“Bill’s vision will alway he Healing Weekend s Bill hosted The Healing Weekend for many years at his home in Wedmore, Somerset, began to visit Secret World to help the animals there.”

Secret World founder Pauline Kidner noted that it was clearly a “extremely successful weekend, which partly funds the work that we do here at Secret World.”

“It was lovely to spend some time with people that share our love of the world that we live in,” Pauline said. “The Secret World volunteers also played their part in making sure things ran smoothly.”

The dates for next year’s Healing Weekend have already been set as 8-10 July 2016 at Secret World Wildlife Rescue. For more details, see www.thehealingweekend.co.uk
