Yeovil town centre will be full of Christmas cheer on Saturday 9th December, with local market stall holders selling their wares and family entertainment on offer.
Visitors will be greeted by two live reindeer and a snowdog between 11.00am and 1.00pm. There will also be a Victorian Christmas Cracker workshop and everyone’s favourite, Father Christmas.
The whole event will have a backdrop of live music at three locations along Middle Street and the bandstand will also host a Choir, Matthew Rock and a number of other musicians performing a mix of music with a good helping of Christmas tunes to get everyone in the mood.
The market takes place throughout Middle Street and The Quedam in Yeovil and runs from 9:30am until 3:30pm.
Father Christmas will be in his grotto in The Quedam on various dates on the run up to Christmas. He will be there every Saturday and Sunday and the late night shopping sessions, 4.00pm – 6.00pm. His last day in his grotto in The Quedam will be Saturday 23rd December, before he heads back to the North Pole to start packing his sleigh.
Councillor Peter Gubbins, Area South Committee Chairman said, “This Festive event is a great opportunity to browse through a variety of stalls and get ready for Christmas. It’s great for Yeovil town centre and we urge everyone to come and stock up on festive cheer, listen to some great local music and enjoy what the town has to offer.”
