Over 100 people turned out for the third annual Work in Wells Week, Trade Fair held in Wells Town Hall last month.
Organised by the Mendip Hub and partners, Work in Wells Week took place from 14 – 18 September in various venues around Wells, and featured a series of free seminars and drop in events covering a varied range of business subjects.
The trade fair took place on the Thursday as part of Work in Wells Week and featured 24 stalls, two speakers and Far Flung Foodie, who was a big hit come lunchtime.
Both speakers had a great turnout and spoke on a variety of subjects including Social Media and leadership coaching. Local companies who had stalls at the event included the Mendip Hub, Mendip District Council, Mid Somerset Series and Red Berry Recruitment among many others.
Judith Ludovino of Mendip Hub Enterprise Centre commented: “The Work in Wells Week Trade Fair at Wells Town Hall was particularly successful, with the vast majority of the exhibitors queuing up to book for next year. The seminars were very well attended with standing room only. We’re already thinking forward to next year when we will have a wider variety of seminars at the Town Hall and an even bigger and better exhibition”
John Parham, portfolio holder for economic development, said: “I’m thrilled with the turnout at this year’s event. Work in Wells Week is getting better and growing every year and this was certainly the biggest so far. With such a wide representation there was something for everyone and I would urge local businesses to get involved in the future.”
