Godminster Organic Brie recognised at the Great British Cheese Awards

Godminster Organic Brie was named runner-up as the People’s Choice Cheese at the Great British Cheese Awards 2017 (www.greatbritishcheeseawards.com). The Great British Cheese awards celebrate the best of British cheese produced and distributed by independent cheese makers and retailers. Now in their second year, the awards stand apart from other events as the general public have a large influence on recognising and rewarding outstanding British cheese and this year saw a record number of entries and over 9,000 people voted for their favourite cheeses, producers and retailers. Taste of the West crowns free range egg producer South West Producer of the Year

Somerset-based free range egg producer and supplier, The Traditional Free Range Egg Company, has been named South West Producer of the Year at the Taste of the West Awards final ceremony, held in the Great Hall at the University of Exeter on Thursday 14 September. Receiving high praise from the judges, owners Dan and Briony Wood (pictured above), were recognised for their innovative and entrepreneurial approach to business development, as well as their efforts to minimise the company’s carbon footprint and their continued work to ensure a sustainable future for independent family-run farms.
