DEGRESS AND MORE AT YOUR LOCAL UNIVERSITY…The University Centre Yeovil is holding an open event on Friday 11 October 2013 between 2pm and 4pm for local people to find out more about the wide range of degrees and professional courses available in Yeovil.
The University Centre is a partnership between five institutions; Bournemouth University, the University of the West of England, the University of Gloucestershire, Swansea Metropolitan University of Wales Trinity St David and Yeovil College. It was created in 2004 to give people in Somerset, Dorset and the surrounding areas easy access to high quality Higher Education (HE).
The University Centre offers a range of full and part-time degrees and professional courses including Foundation, Honours and Master’s degrees. Access courses are also available for those wishing to build knowledge and confidence before embarking on a HE course.
New courses offered this year include a BA (Hons) Early Years and a suite of Materials Engineering qualifications.
On Friday 11 October, visitors will be able to find out more about the HE courses on offer from teaching staff, tour the dedicated HE campus and get finance, accommodation and travel advice from our friendly admissions team. Details of a new ‘pay-as-you-go’ scheme, which allows students to pay per unit for their course, will also be available.
The University Centre’s Director of Higher Education said “The University Centre Yeovil is a real opportunity for local people to achieve the higher qualifications they deserve while balancing work and home commitments. We pride ourselves on listening to our students and responding to their needs, which is why we constantly review the courses we offer and look for ways to provide a better service. The development of a ‘pay-as-you-go’ scheme is just one example of how we’re increasing flexibility so more people can take advantage of the high quality degrees we offer. Other new developments include our new Student Union, the only one of its kind in the area, as well as a number of new courses, all firmly rooted in vocational areas and relevant to employers and industry. Next year marks the tenth anniversary of the University Centre Yeovil’s opening and it remains an exciting and dynamic place to be.”
The University Centre Yeovil open event will take place on Friday 11 October 2013 between 2pm and 4pm. To register, please visit www.ucy.ac.uk.
