TV Chefs Nadiya Hussain and James Martin will be hosting a series of live cooking masterclasses at Longleat as part of its first ever Food and Drink Festival (June 10th-11th).
On Saturday, Nadiya, the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2015, will be demonstrating her baking skills in three live shows taking place in the Longhouse, Longleat’s new events area, while on Sunday, James will be sharing some of his favourite recipes.
Emma, Viscountess Weymouth, who is an enthusiastic cook herself, is hosting ‘Emma’s Afternoon Tea’, a special high tea in the Orangery and surrounding formal gardens.
The beautifully curated tea, which includes a selection of speciality teas, delicious sandwiches, homemade meringues and intricately crafted cakes, brings to life Emma’s love of the quintessentially British tradition.
Emma is also issuing her own personal challenge to creative cooks to take part in a special cake decorating competition.
Visitors are being invited to decorate a cake in whatever style, theme, or colour they like and bring it along to the Festival on Saturday or Sunday.
Viscountess Weymouth will select her favourite three entries on both days which will go into the grand final on Sunday. After his final culinary demonstration at 4pm, James Martin himself will pick the grand prize winner from the top six finalists.
The Festival also features a food and drink village selling authentic, locally-sourced fresh food and drink products.
With dozens of stalls selling a huge range of products visitors can sample everything from local wine and cider, to Wiltshire chillies, Cheddar Gorge cheese and Roskilly ice cream, all within the iconic grounds of Longleat.
All events are included with a day ticket to Longleat, including the shows. Pre-booking for the shows cost £1 and is available on the Longleat website now.
