For this year’s Summer Exhibition The Chandos Society of Artists have been preparing an eclectic collection of new works which can be viewed at the Taunton Library in Paul Street. On display will be paintings, drawings, prints, mosaics and fabrics. Most of the work, that covers the whole spectrum of styles and subjects, can purchased at very reasonable cost.
You also have the opportunity view the work and discuss it with the artists at a free wine reception on Wednesday 22 June, 5.00 – 7.30pm.
Available from the exhibition reception desk will be full information about the Society’s Open Invitation to ‘Come Outside’ – three painting days that all beginners, dabblers and experienced artists are invited to join them to paint outdoors. The first days painting is in Taunton on Saturday 25th June. Just turn up at the Library to register (£5) and then off you go to paint anything in and around the town. The next venues are Steart Marshes on Sunday 17th July, and the final day is in Watchet on Saturday 13th August. For your registration fee you a guaranteed space to hang your picture(s) in the ‘ome Outside’ Exhibition during September. That is amazing value. A whole month exhibition for a fiver!
