Yeovil Bike Park Cheque Presentation 1South Somerset District Council’s plans to make improvements to Lyde Park have taken a giant jump closer to reality thanks to a £5,000 Health and Wellbeing grant from Somerset County Councillor Tony Lock. South Somerset District Council (SSDC) is planning to develop an exciting new location for children, young people and adults to cycle and use bikes. Febreze triggers a fresh recycling trial at Tesco and Recycling Centres across Somerset

SWP Trigger top Febreze 01Febreze – a Procter & Gamble company brand – and Tesco are working with Somerset Waste Partnership to help residents recycle more plastics than ever before. From 8 December 2014, people can participate in a trial to separate and recycle the trigger tops and flip caps from their home care plastic bottles, at large Tesco stores and Recycling Centres across Somerset. The trial is taking place to help understand whether specific collection methods work for previously non-recycled packaging. Trigger tops on plastic bottles that allow the products to be sprayed are made from different types of plastic to that of the bottles, and often contain a metal spring – this means they should be separated for recycling. Re-launch of Yeovil Markets in Lower Middle Street

SSDCSouth Somerset District Council is set to re-launch the Tuesday and Friday Market in Yeovil Town Centre starting from Friday 5 December. The Markets are located in Lower Middle Street and are held between 8.00am – 3.00pm. On Friday 5 and Tuesday 9 December, Yeovil’s markets will be re-launched with a range of exciting new initiatives including new branding, advertising with local radio, new signage, reduced pitch fees for new and existing traders, free public liability insurance for new businesses and free car parking from 9 am to 3 pm in SSDC Car parks (using vouchers from the Western Gazette).
