Yeovil’s first Full Marathon promises to be an event for the whole family with activities including bouncy castles, a barbecue and a free Children’s Fun Run. The aim of the whole event – which takes place on Sunday 14th June and is hosted by Yeovil Town Road Running Club – is to raise money for the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and the Yeovilton Military Wives Choir. OCTAGON THEATRE WINS HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND SUPPORT
The Octagon Theatre has received £36,900 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting new project, The Octagon Archive, which will aim to generate an archive for The Octagon Theatre and it’s antecedents following the venue celebrating its 40th Over its 40 year history there has never been an archive of the venues that preceded The Octagon Theatre or of its professional and amateur entertainment history. THE OCTAGON THEATRE CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S LITERATURE WITH ‘THE SNAIL AND THE WHALE’ AND ‘ROOM ON THE BROOM’
The Octagon Theatre is delighted to be presenting two fantastic productions from Tall Stories (the creators of ‘The Gruffalo’ stage show) this season. Two classic children’s stories will be brought to life live on stage: ‘The Snail and the Whale’ and ‘Room on the Broom’. The productions are originally children’s books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and are firmly established as family favourites at bed time. ‘The Snail and the Whale’ is a story all about a tiny snail who hitches a lift on the back of a humpback whale and has to save the day when the whale gets beached.
