F_Copy of Lexar USB Dec 12New 2011New Docs 2006David   HallSI New President 2015Veronica Venables-Ross has been elected President of Yeovil, Sherborne & Districts Soroptimists, taking over from Jen Gardner, who has been President for the past year. After receiving the presidential chain of office, Mrs Venables-Ross reminded members that the club’s main charities this year are the Zest Café in Sherborne, which helps people recovering from mental health problems, and Water Aid’s ‘To Be A Girl’ campaign.  Fundraising events throughout her presidential year will benefit these, and other, organisations. Zero Project: What’s it all about?

downloadSince 2007, the Zero Project has been successfully running under 18’s nightclub events which give young people from school year 9 until the age of 17 the opportunity to socialise in a safe and supervised environment. The project aims to reduce alcohol related anti-social behaviour, increase take-up of physical activity, reduce binge and underage drinking and misuse of drugs; and also provide specialist advice or guidance on issues affecting young people. Serving up a fine cup of tea at Ringtons Yeovil launch

12 Ringtons 09-04-15Shoppers in Yeovil town centre were treated to a free cup of tea and coffee thanks to the arrival of British company Ringtons to the town. To celebrate the launch of its new doorstep delivery service which will see Ringtons deliver quality tea, coffee, biscuits and gifts to Yeovil and the surrounding area, one of the company’s original horse and carts from 1907 drew in the passing crowds while competitions and tea tasting kept locals entertained. The 108 year old company was also welcomed to the town by the Mayor of Yeovil, Councillor Mike Lock, who joined the Ringtons team for a cup of tea at Yeovil Methodist Church Hall.
