Collection of Yeovil gloves donated to Community Heritage Access Centre

CHAC Gloves 2A collection of glove samples made at Yeovil gloving company Clothier Giles and part of South Somerset’s industrial heritage have been donated to the District Council’s Community Heritage Access Centre. The twelve pairs of gloves, made of different materials and in various designs, were used by salesmen to show the quality and style of Clothier Giles products, to retailers across the country. South Somerset Community Energy share issue hits £100,000!

Exhibition to celebrate the centenary of the founding of Westland Aircraft Works

David Lloyd GeorgeFrom 24 July 2015 there will be a display in the Town House, Union Street, Yeovil to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Westland Aircraft Works. The display has been organised by South Somerset District Council’s Community Heritage Access Centre and a free booklet can also be obtained on the history of the founding from the Town House and Yeovil Library in King George Street.
