Somerset Charity Reaches £1million in its 10th Anniversary Year!

£1million photoSchool in a Bag, the initiative run by the Piers Simon Appeal based in Chilthorne Domer near Yeovil, has reached its first £1 million milestone – in the charity’s 10th anniversary year. The Piers Simon Appeal (PSA) was set up in memory of Piers who sadly lost his life in the Indian Ocean Tsunami on Boxing Day in 2004, following a collection at his memorial, which raised £10,000. District Council helps residents tackle cold homes and high bills

Screen-Shot-2014-06-09-at-14.47.56If you are worried about rising fuel costs this winter or are thinking of improving the energy efficiency of your home, there’s free and impartial advice available to you when you call the Home Energy Team at the Centre of Sustainable Energy (CSE). South Somerset District Council (SSDC), along with other Somerset Local Authorities, work in partnership with the Bristol based charity to provide advice on how to lower energy bills  and improve the energy efficiency of the homes in Somerset.
