With Halloween fast approaching, the Zero Project team have released details of their upcoming fun event for Year 9 students upwards to 17 year olds, a Halloween Party at Club Neo, Yeovil. The Halloween Party will be held on Wednesday 28 October from 7.00pm – 11.00pm, and is aimed at attracting young students from across Somerset and Dorset for an exciting and safe night out. Entry on the door is £5; however there is a new group discount initiative that has been introduced which will see groups of six or more gain admission to the event for £4 per person. The excitement is pumping for brand new cycle facility
Young cyclists were hurtling round corners with huge smiles on their faces when a new ‘Pump Track’ officially opened in Yeovil on Wednesday 30 September. The project, which has been led by South Somerset District Council, followed consultation during the summer which highlighted a lot of enthusiasm for local cycling facilities. It is hoped that the track – which is located near Wyndham Park in Yeovil – will be the start of more cycling facilities in South Somerset. Full Story: Read more
Thomas Franks Raise £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support
Chilton Cantelo School’s catering team, Thomas Franks, put on a morning of games, quizzes, coffee, cake and a prize draw for a special cake to raise £300 for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning last Friday. The school’s Merlin Café was filled with pupils, parents, staff and school friends making donations towards the charity. The raffle prize was a magnificently detailed and elaborate cake made by hand by Mrs Neville who regularly makes cakes like this for the school. The cake draw winner was Mrs Roberts, school receptionist.
