Tessa Munt MP hosts Somerset business breakfast

Delegates heard Tessa Munt MP speak about her political career to date and explain what her current role entails. She spoke about her strong relationship with Vince Cable, which provides her with an opportunity to take local business issues directly to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. New Wells Rec working group meets for first time

Mendip District CouncilThe first meeting of the new Wells Recreation Ground working group has taken place, with the group being allocated several key tasks. The working group has been set up to help the Wells Recreation Ground Trust (WRGT) revise its strategic plan, as suggested in the recent Options Appraisal. It will make recommendations to the trustees to ensure that the community has a say in how the Bishop’s Barn and recreation ground will be improved to become viable and self-sustaining for the future. Mendip’s Draft Local Plan receives positive response from inspector

Mendip District CouncilMendip District Council has received a positive response from the government inspector who is scrutinising the authority’s draft Local Plan. The draft Local Plan outlines how future housing and employment needs will be catered for across Mendip up to 2029, as well as providing services, infrastructure and facilities such as schools, roads and green spaces. Following the conclusion of April’s public hearings into Mendip’s plan, the council has now received a letter from the inspector outlining his initial recommendations. Full story: Read more
