Somerset-based chamber choir The Collegium Singers will be performing their ‘Grand Tour’ concert at the Museum of Somerset on Saturday 22 October. The concert is a musical voyage through Europe’s leading capitals in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Dinosaurs and Dragons at the Museum of Somerset for Half Term
Dinosaurs and dragons will be taking over the Museum of Somerset for October half term. Dino Day is on Sunday 23 October, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Families can explore the museum’s amazing collection of real fossils, take a dino trail around the museum and enjoy some dino crafts. The day includes a chance to dress up like a dinosaur, dino disco dancing and storytelling. It costs £3 per person (£10 for a family ticket) and no booking is required. Full story: Read more
From Wild Beginnings to Wild Art at the Museum of Somerset
The Boys’ Own adventures of Taunton brothers Andrew and David Neal have inspired the Museum of Somerset’s autumn exhibition, ‘Wild Art: Nature Re-imagined’. Opening on Saturday 8 October the exhibition features photography, sculpture and painting by the brothers. Fascinated by nature since childhood, they explored the Somerset countryside on family walks and on cycling and canoe adventures in the 1940s and ’50s. Full story: Read more
