Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook near Chard were thrilled to receive two donations recently from “Support Adoption for Pets” raised by customers from Axminster and Taunton Pets at Home stores. The Axminster store raised a whopping £1,115.85 and the Taunton store £642.25. Local Adoption charity opens its doors in Somerset to urge potential adopters to come forward
Specialist adoption agency and charity Families for Children are pleased to announce the opening of their new adoption service based in Somerset. Families for Children’s Somerset office will be opening next Tuesday 28th April in Taunton. The charity has been working across Devon, Cornwall and Dorset for over 20 years and have now expanded their services into Somerset for the first time. It is hoped that by having an office based locally in Taunton they will be able to provide support for new adopters from the area at a very local level. Full story: Read more

The Richard Huish College Apprenticeship team will be on hand to give advice about Apprenticeships during National Apprenticeship Week, Monday 9th March to Friday 13th March. This academic year Huish will have worked with 470 apprentices and more than 200 employers in Somerset and neighbouring parts of Devon including Nuffield Health, Musgrove Park Hospital, WPA, AC Mole & Sons, B.J.Dixon Walsh, Vapormatt and Viridor.
