South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Enforcement Officers are offering free microchipping to all dog owners at two Country Park sites across South Somerset in preparation for a new legislation that is set to be introduced. Plant a tree for Christmas
Residents of South Somerset are invited to join the Countryside Rangers this coming weekend and plant a tree at Ham Hill Country Park for Christmas. The Ranger team at South Somerset District Council’s Ham Hill Country Park recently received a free tree pack from the Woodland Trust to plant in Pit Wood, which form part of the Country Park site. Dog owners reminded to pick up after their pets this winter
Dog owners in South Somerset are being reminded pick up after their pets this winter or face the possibility of a fine. With the clocks having recently gone backwards and the darker nights now with us, patrols by enforcement officers will be stepped up across the district in a bid to catch any offenders failing to pick up after their pets. South Somerset District Council is reminding dog owners that anyone caught allowing their dog, or any dog that they are in charge of to mess in a public place, they may be issued with a fixed penalty notice for £80.
