This October half term will see South Somerset District Council’s popular Ninesprings Café celebrate its first year trading down at Yeovil Country Park. The Café has become a great asset to the country park, offering a welcome stop for walkers, families and a variety of groups that enjoy the great green space and all it offers. Flexercise training in Chard will help keep older people more active
South Somerset District Council’s Healthy Lifestyles Team is helping older and frail residents to keep active by offering a one day ‘Flexercise’ training session in Chard on Thursday 5th November. Sam Wenden-de-Lira, Healthy Lifestyles Officer at the district council explained the benefits of the training: “Flexercise is a series of chair based exercises that are an ideal way to keep residents in nursing homes, care homes, Active Living Centres, residential homes and sheltered housing active. One month’s free rental when you sign up to Careline before 31st October
This autumn, South Somerset District Council’s Careline service is giving new customers the chance to receive one month’s free rental when you sign up to the service before 31st October. Careline provides help at the touch of a button and gives that little extra support to people who want to remain living independently for as long as possible while bringing peace of mind to their family and friends. The service provides an emergency alarm pendant that can be worn at all times, which links to our local control centre where emergency staff are on hand to answer calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
