Dogs die in hot carsSouth Somerset District Council’s Enforcement Officers are pleading with dog owners not to leave their pets in cars, after receiving several reports of distressed dogs in cars during the recent hot weather. An influx of calls from residents who are concerned about the welfare of a dog being left alone in a car has prompted South Somerset District Council to remind its residents not to leave dogs alone in a car. On Monday 28 April, 2-7pm at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, residents of South Somerset are able to come along to the South Somerset Housing Fair and visit exhibitors ranging from Housing Association and Property Developers to Financial Advisers, Community Land Trusts, Architects, Fire Service, Police and South Somerset District Council’s Housing, Welfare, Benefits and Environmental teams. Residents in 6 communities benefit from a free Health MOT

The Health MOT’s – which are being carried out by the Healthy Lifestyles Team at South Somerset District Council – are completely free of charge and include checks on cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar.
