Following on from a successful campaign last year, Chard Resident, Judy Gray, has once more enlisted the support of District Councillor Amanda Broom in raising awareness of dogs being left in hot cars. This year, with the full support of South Somerset District Council, other District Councils have also been asked to support as the message is spread further afield. Artist in residence this summer at Yeovil Country Park
South Somerset District Council is delighted to announce that this summer artist, Carolyn Lefley, will be working with various groups in Yeovil Country Park, as part of a three year project to encourage wider use of the park. The project, entitled Water – Meadow – Wood, provides a greater opportunity for engagement with people to interpret the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the Country Park; Caroline will focus on the park’s grasslands and meadows. Digital event to help more communities in south Somerset get connected
A free event this April hosted by the South Somerset Association for Voluntary and Community Action (SSVCA) will help many more communities in south Somerset get better connected through the effective use of digital tools. The ‘Connected Communities’ event, which is supported by South Somerset District Council and a range of other organisation, is aimed at village hall committees, parish councils and community groups.
