Free car parking after 3:00pm on Tuesdays start today

SSDCA car parking initiative by South Somerset District Council (SSDC) which will see shoppers able to park for free after 3:00pm on Tuesdays starts today. SSDC announced the new parking scheme in its November edition of South Somerset News, a residents’ newsletter delivered to every household in South Somerset. Tatworth WI get sporty with new equipment

Tatworth group2A group of ladies from Tatworth WI has enthusiastically embraced a range of new sports including new age kurling and boccia thanks to South Somerset District Council’s Sport50 initiative. Sport50 offers anyone over the age of 50 the opportunity to try a wide range of adapted sports which can include badminton, short tennis, walking rounders, croquet and basketball. Fairmead School choir a Christmas number one hit at council offices

Fairmead School Choir 1 - 11 Dec 14Fairmead School choir from Yeovil proved they were a Christmas number one hit when they entertained staff and visitors today at South Somerset District Council’s Brympton Way offices. The choir sang a variety of Christmas songs for 45 minutes in the main reception and were joined by staff from the district council who listened to them during their performance. Full story: Read more
