South Somerset District Council’s Community Heritage Access Centre (CHAC) in Yeovil are pleased to receive a donation of a photograph of Air Raid Patrol (ARP) Wardens in the town during World War II, donated by one of the people pictured in it. Previously, the centre only held one photograph of an individual ARP warden in Yeovil, so this photograph starts to fill a considerable gap in the collection and helps piece together Yeovil’s history during World War II. Community put down roots at King Arthur Drive Play Area
Local residents rolled up their sleeves and got digging for the Tree Planting Day which formed part of the brand new King Arthur Drive Play Area project in Yeovil. The new play area will provide a challenging and fun environment for young people and will feature a range of exciting new equipment including a zip line, a toddler and junior climbing frame, a basket swing as well as a new footpath and seating.
