A torchlight procession around the hill fort marked 5 November on Ham Hill, ending at the Stone Circle with a massive bonfire that lit up the night sky. 250 people took part in the free event thought up by the rangers following the popularity of the summer 2012 Jubilee beacon. Area North awards £500 grant for refurbishment
Youngsters in Martock are enjoying the benefits of a refurbished catering trailer thanks to grants awarded by South Somerset District Council and Martock Parish Council. ArchiesXtra provides youngsters in Martock with a focus for meeting on a weekly basis. The project set-up and run by Martock Christian Fellowship (MCF), meets every Thursday evening at the Recreation Ground where hot and cold refreshments are served from the catering trailer. Remembrance Day Parade in Kingsbury Episcopi, Sunday 10th November
Kingsbury Episcopi and Stembridge Remembrance Day Parade takes place on Sunday 10th November at 10.00am. Parade stepping off from Kingsbury Shop, all welcome! Veterans, serving service personnel. clubs and associations are invited to march from the shop to the green for the last post and reveille, then on to St Martin’s Church. All those wishing to march should muster at the shop at 09.45am (free tea and coffee provided for those marching). Remembrance Service and wreath laying at St Martin’s Church 10.30am.
