Government Minister officially opens the Shape Mendip Hub

Shape opening2A new public services hub based at the heart of the Mendip district has been officially opened by Oliver Letwin MP, Minister for Government Policy. The Shape Mendip Hub in Shepton Mallet has brought a number of leading public service providers together on to one site. It is a groundbreaking initiative that puts customers at the heart of public service delivery and aims to provide more accessible, streamlined public services while saving the council millions of pounds that can be ploughed back into frontline services. Coleford village turns out for community hub launch

Coleford hub opening GPMunns15Residents from Coleford and surrounding areas turned out in force on Friday (6th February) to support the launch of the village’s new community hub. ‘At The Hub’ is based at the old school building in Church Street, at the heart of the village, and is run by a new village social enterprise, which aims to bring together public agencies, community organisations and businesses, in a bid to tackle rural isolation. The building, which is also home to Coleford’s youth club, is available for local groups and individuals to hire and will act as a new meeting place for the village and surrounding areas.
