Mendip District Council has received a positive response from the government inspector who is scrutinising the authority’s draft Local Plan. The draft Local Plan outlines how future housing and employment needs will be catered for across Mendip up to 2029, as well as providing services, infrastructure and facilities such as schools, roads and green spaces. Council staff hard at work as Glastonbury gets ready to party
With the world-famous Glastonbury Festival now just weeks away, Mendip District Council staff are hard at work behind the scenes, doing their bit to make sure the event passes off as safely as possible. Around 200,000 people will shortly descend on Worthy Farm, Pilton, to enjoy music from some of the biggest artists on the planet. But a huge amount of work is already under way to ensure the event, which in March this year was awarded a new 10-year licence, continues to be regarded by many as the best music festival in the world. Neighbourhood Plans under way in Wells and St Cuthbert Out
Neighbourhood Plans are being prepared in Wells and St Cuthbert Out and a consultation is being held on the areas these plans will cover. Neighbourhood Plans are community-led plans to guide future development or conservation of an area.
