Longleat’s newest arrivals enjoyed some early Halloween treats in the shape of carved pumpkins this week. The seven-strong colony of colobus monkeys have taken up residence on an island in the middle of a lake and, to welcome them to their new home, keepers laid on a surprise treat in the shape of the edible gourds. Yeovil Country Parks Halloween Trail was a great success this year, with an estimated 2,000 people completing the trail on Friday 28 October. Over 800 paying children and approximately 300 under 3’s took part in the trail and received a small prize at the end.
