Free training sessions are being held in Mendip next month to help local businesses discover the power of social media. The four events, which will take place in Frome, Wells, Street and Nunney, are being run by Get up to Speed as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset project and will demonstrate the effectiveness of social media and the importance of having an online presence when running a successful business. CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS FOR ‘STEP IN STONE’ SCULPTURE DESIGN COMPETITION
This summer’s exciting art project, ‘step in stone’, is offering young, budding artists an opportunity to exhibit their work alongside international artists. If you are under 20 years old and interested in art and design, the step in stone sculpture design competition is a chance to show your talents. Neighbourhood Plan on the cards for Frome
A further step forward has been taken in seeing the completion of a plan designed to shape Frome’s future. Frome Town Council has submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to Mendip District Council so a final stage of consultation can take place before it is examined by an independent examiner. Frome Town Council has already consulted widely on the plan with residents, businesses and a range of interest groups during the production stages and now the Local Planning Authority (in this case Mendip District Council) is legally required to publicise and consult on the produced plan, the final stage before its examination.
