Latest First World War donation tells the story of two Yeovil War Memorial soldiers

Ernest 'Dyke' LuffmanPhotographs, memorial cards and a letter are the latest First World War items to be donated to South Somerset District Council’s Community Heritage Access Centre (CHAC) in Yeovil. The latest donation contains photographs of two soldiers who are on Yeovil’s War Memorial – Ernest ‘Dyke’ Luffman and Earle Mitchell. Their memorial cards and a letter from Ernest’s sister Mabel to a Mr Bird, trying to find out more about how Ernest died, complete the donation. Full story: Read more
