For this year’s Summer Exhibition The Chandos Society of Artists have been preparing an eclectic collection of new works which can be viewed at the Taunton Library in Paul Street. On display will be paintings, drawings, prints, mosaics and fabrics. Most of the work, that covers the whole spectrum of styles and subjects, can purchased at very reasonable cost. Celebrating the extraordinary craftsmanship of the textile industry from 14th century to present day, this stunning new exhibition for 2016 is a collation of some of the most beautiful and rare vestments and ecclesiastical textiles from around the country. Telling the story from Medieval times up until today, the exhibition will include items not seen on public display since 1930 and ancient pieces such as the 1350 embroidered cope panel. This exhibition, in the Café Gallery at Ilminster Arts Centre, is a celebration of Kenneth’s life as well as his work and will feature paintings from throughout his career, including late flower and garden themed pieces.
