A charity hailed as the People’s Champion is launching an appeal for Christmas donations so that it can help everyone who turns to its experts for advice. Somerset is set to raise its profile with potential inward investors as a new advertising campaign highlighting the county as a great place to do business is to be launched on catch-up TV channels alongside popular shows such as Downton Abbey and Grand Designs. The advert has been commissioned by inward investment organisation Into Somerset and challenges the stereotype of country living, highlighting some of the dynamic businesses and business people that are based in Somerset. Residents to vote on Cerne Valley Neighbourhood Plan
Cerne Valley could have Dorset’s first Neighbourhood Plan if residents give it the go ahead. A local referendum will take place on 11 December, with locals going to the polls to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the proposals. The final version of the Cerne Valley Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to West Dorset District Council for examination in December 2013. The plan was drawn up by local people, and agreed by the parish council, who felt confident that the plan reflects the hopes and views of the local community. Full story: Read more
