A festive feel was definitely in the air at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall near Chard recently when local ladies had great fun learning how to make their Christmas floral designs. Watching a step-by-step demonstration first, they were shown an abundance of ideas they could use. Some of the ladies attending had no experience at all. Somerset Animal Sanctuary Plans to Expand Site
In their 75th year of helping animals, much loved Somerset charity Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook, near Chard are looking to improve and expand their current facilities. Plans to build four new buildings on their current site are shortly to be submitted for approval. These will include a new agricultural building and storage shed. Jasper the depressed dog finds a home
A desperate national plea was recently launched to find a new home for Jasper; a five year old male neutered English Springer Spaniel who was resident at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Wambrook, near Chard, Somerset. Jasper had been at the Sanctuary’s kennels for six months and was showing signs of depression. Tara Nirula, Re-homing Manager said: “Everyone here at Ferne Animal Sanctuary is delighted that Jasper has finally found a new home after being with us for so long – and with such a lovely owner who can give him all the care and attention he needs.
