Chard Countryside Day at the beginning of September was a roaring success with over 250 visitors enjoying free activities including fire lighting, clay modelling, pond dipping and toasting marshmallows. Go wild at Chard Countryside Day this coming Saturday
If you haven’t visited before, Saturday is the prefect chance to make a first foray over to the beautiful reservoir site at Chard owned by South Somerset District Council. With lovely woodland walks with watery views and meadows alive with insects and flowers, July is a great time to explore the reserve and all it offers. On Saturday 18 July from 11:00am until 4:00pm, the countryside ranger team will be on site with lots of free family activities including bug hunting, pond dipping, face painting, forest school activities and wood turning.
