THE iconic installation commemorating soldiers who fell on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, which captivated millions when it was displayed in Exeter, is to be shown again. Now its official – cycling is good for your mental health
An independent report by the University of Brighton and University of Surrey has confirmed what project workers at charity Life Cycle UK have long known – cycling is good for mental well-being. Life Cycle UK’s “Bike Minded” project offers community based support to help individuals experiencing mental health issues to get on a bike and improve their well-being through cycling. After supporting over 200 individuals, the scheme has now been hailed as an “essential mental health service”. Full story: Read more
Charity seeks riders for Brunel Flyer cycle challenge
The Brunel Flyer Cycle Challenge will take place this spring and children’s charity Action Medical Research is calling for riders to sign up now for the event on Sunday 10 May. There is a choice of Cool (40 miles,) Classic (61 miles) and Champion (100 miles) routes setting out from the Wellsway Sports Centre, Chandag road in Keynsham. The routes take in the stunning scenery surrounding Bath including, the Chew Valley, Cheddar, White Horse at Westbury, and Longleat Estate. Full story: Read more
