Businesses in South Somerset could benefits from Somerset’s EU-funded COOL Tourism Project that is holding eight FREE workshops across the county to help tourism businesses learn tips and tricks for creating compelling and shareable content for social media.
The event is for businesses that already have social media accounts but want to post more interesting content and increase their reach.
Councillor Sylvia Seal, South Somerset District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Tourism said, “The ability for tourism businesses to communicate directly with customers on social media, has been seen as particularly important for business recovery post-flooding. It will also be a great way of communication information to future visitors. At an SSDC forum for South Somerset tourism businesses earlier this year, representatives specifically asked for there to be more social media training opportunities, to enable them to give fast, accurate and very localised information straight to the customer”.
There are several events handy for businesses in South Somerset – Ilminster (8 January); Stoke St Gregory (23 January); and Yeovil (9 February). Sessions run 10am until 3pm and it’s all free, so sign up now to make sure of your place.
