The 2017 Wells Comedy Festival in association with Brothers Cider is nearly here, taking place the bank holiday weekend of May 26-28.
The festival – now in its third year – is bringing dozens of the finest comedians in the country to England’s smallest city for a jam-packed weekend of comedy.
Headliners include Bafta-winner Stewart Lee, surreal one-liner king Milton Jones and TV regulars Sara Pascoe, James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Paul Foot and Nish Kumar.
The line-up also includes three Edinburgh Comedy Award winners – Bridget Christie, Adam Riches and John Kearns – and six nominees Kieran Hodgson, Ben Target, Jayde Adams, Sam Fletcher, Sarah Kendall and Simon Munnery.
Plus there are TV and circuit favourites like Richard Herring, Angelos & Barry, Ellie Taylor, Ed Gamble, Rhys James, Brian Gittins, Sean McLoughlin, Bec Hill, Jordan Brookes, Hal Cruttenden, Fin Taylor, Alfie Brown, Jamali Maddix, Lou Sanders and the Comedians Cinema Club with their live reinterpretation of Wells’s very own ‘Hot Fuzz’.
Some shows are already sold out, but there are many shows with tickets available at www.wellscomfest.com
