Somerset craft cider company Harry’s Cider is extending its range with a new bottled cider called Applemoor, which will be available from 21 October, also known as Apple Day. A medium cider with a rich fruity aroma, Applemoor is light and silky with a mellow finish that balances sweetness and tannin, maintaining the taste and character of a Somerset cider but with a relatively low alcohol level. WetlandLIFE, a nationwide, three year university-led project, funded by a number of UK research councils, has announced that it will be working in the Somerset Levels to carry out a range of ecological and cultural research which aims to support the development of better wetland assessment tools for use by wetland site managers across the country.
