Inaugural team shoeing challenge secures full entry at Royal Bath & West Show
A new team shoeing challenge has attracted an incredible 12 group entries at the Royal Bath & West Show this year, featuring some of the best farriers in the country. “Team shoeing competitions are incredibly popular around the world and although this is the first year for us entries filled up instantly,” says Head of Shows Alan Lyons. Each of the four team members has to prepare a hoof, make a shoe and fit it, with points awarded for the best prepared hoof and shoe. Full story: Read more
Langport & District History Society announces pub partnership
Langport & District History Society is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership with the new landlord of the Black Swan, Mike Dandy. As one of the oldest pubs in Langport, Mike wants to decorate it with historic photos of Langport as it used to be. The History Society has amassed a collection of digital photos of the area, but has nowhere that they can be displayed. So when Mike got in touch with the Society, they found that they could do each other a good turn. Full story: Read more
