The Somerset Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will be holding their Annual Fleece Fair on Saturday 18th June 2016 at Hatch Beauchamp village Hall TA3 6SG
Visitors will be able to purchase a wide variety of newly-shorn sheep and alpaca fleeces and some wonderful, exclusive natural yarns. In the past there has been fresh fleece on sale from Shetland, Jacobs, Romney, Manx Loaghtan and Exmoor Horn sheep and we are expecting to have some more unusual and rare breeds fleece available this year.
If visitors have never bought a fleece before, Guild members will be on hand to show them the ropes and to offer advice.
The variety and colour of alpaca fleece has also been growing year on year, making this an event not to be missed by anyone with an interest in spinning , knitting, crochet or felting. Ready-prepared fleece (tops) suitable for spinning and felt making will also be available as will some equipment for weaving and spinning.
The Fleece Fair opens at 10.30a.m. and enthusiastic spinners and knitters are usually there promptly to snap up the choicest offerings.
Refreshments will be available and there will be demonstrations throughout the day so there will be something to interest all the family.
Hatch Beauchamp is easily accessed from the M5 ( junction 25) and from the A303.
