Somerset Art Works (SAW) and Red Brick Building are delighted to present Hacker Farm at the Launch Party of Somerset Art Weeks this Friday, 12th September 2014.
The Guardian newspaper describe the sound of Hacker Farm as …
“…weirdly enveloping and captivating. Once you find a way into their world, you lose yourself in it, and it’s harder to find a way out than you might imagine. There’s certainly nothing else quite like it out there.”
Hacker Farm (hackerfarm.net) is a Somerset based electronic collective that harness found objects and salvaged materials, including DIY speakers, circuit-bent toys and self-built synthesizers to bring you their unique sound. They have performed throughout the UK including Nottingham Contemporary, Supernormal Festival and have been invited to perform in Iceland in December.
During the evening, Hacker Farm will perform live, alongside video footage about Somerset, produced by filmmaker Tim Knock in collaboration with other creative people at the Red Brick Building.
The evening will open with a special performance of Caryl Churchill’s Seven Jewish Children and end with JazzFunkSoulHouse by DJ Discreet Unit. There will be artwork on display at the venue, plus special guests and surprises!
The event is suitable for all ages. Doors open at 7pm, performances between 7.30pm to 10pm. DJ until late.
