Held annually on the grassed area at Yeovil Country Park, besides the Ninesprings Cafe, South Somerset District Council’s Fun Dog show is always a date for the diary.
This year, the event will be held on Sunday 21 June and dogs of all breeds and ages are welcome, although sadly there are restrictions on puppies under 6 months of age entering the show.
Whether you have a dog or not, this event is not to be missed because of its fun and friendly atmosphere plus it’s free entry cost. Registration for classes will start at 11:00am and judging will begin at 11:30am. Classes will cost just £1 to enter.
This year, a variety of stall holders will be on site including charity organisations as well as commercial businesses relating to your four-legged friends. The Dogs Trust will also be present offering micro-chipping free of charge.
Councillor Jo Roundell Greene, Portfolio Holder for Environment said, “We have been running the Dog Show for the past eight years and it has always been a great success. Come along for a fun day out. There are lots of things for everyone to enjoy, with or without a dog. We really hope the weather will be good this year so we can make this the best show yet. It’s fun and it’s free, so come and visit or enter your dog.”
So whether it’s your first time showing your pet, or you are experienced in showing, please come along and join us for the day. With a guarantee of a great day out, a lot of hairy dogs and a dog biscuit or two, all we need now is the great weather to accompany the event.
