Adele Parham and Philippa O’Grady, who have been training at Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne, both won medals in the British Gas Masters and Senior Age Group swimming Championships 2013.
Adele, who is in the 45-49 age group, won Silver in the 1500m F/S and Bronze in the 400m Individual Medley, whilst Philippa, who competed in the 40-44 age group, picked up a Silver medal in the 200m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley and Bronze in the 100m Butterfly. The three day championships were held at the Plymouth Life Centre in June.
The British Gas Masters and Senior Age Group Championships is the highlight of the national master’s calendar. With international entries and records tumbling it showcases truly world class competition.
Both women also swam as part of a medley relay team which won third place in the 160+ ladies category. They trained hard for the events in the Pool at the Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne, Dorset and also at Wincanton Sports Centre.
They commented: “We are absolutely delighted with our results. All the hard training has really paid off and we thank those who have supported us.”
