Plans to make £24m in savings and 190 job cuts at Somerset County Council will push staff to “breaking point”, trade union Unison has said. The Conservative-run council is set to debate the draft budget on 6 February. The police are being urged to intervene after more than
80% of drivers on a road in Yeovil, Somerset, flouted the speed limit. A speed indicator device on Lyde Road in the town recorded the motorists during an eight-day period in November.
