To celebrate the launch of its 2015 batch of keeved cider, Pilton Cider is holding a new season party at its cidery in Shepton Mallet, Somerset on Friday 29 April from 8pm. Those attending on the night will be among the first to taste the fresh and fruity 2015 harvest cider, just released from six months of cold fermentation, and will also have the opportunity to browse through Pilton Cider’s back catalogue since 2010.
Dancing is very much encouraged in the bottling room, where Bath-based band, Agent Philby & the Funtans will perform, and the barbeque will be dusted off for the first firing of the season, with meat and vegetarian options available. For those who would like to learn more about keeving, short tours around the keeving shed will be held for small groups to hear about the finer points of this centuries-old technique, which Martin Berkeley has revived to produce this award-winning cider.
Entrance is by advance ticket only, which cost £5 each and include half a pint of Pilton’s 2015 batch. Tickets are available online at www.piltoncider.com/newseason or from Pilton’s cider works at The Anglo in Shepton Mallet.
