Country singer Dolly Parton has promised that she will adopt a dog that was abandoned at Glastonbury, if the owner is not found. Dolly the dog, named in honour of the star, was found in a tent during the clean-up of the festival in Somerset. Flautist Sarah Bennington and harpist Fontane Liang will give a recital in south Somerset on Thursday June 5th as part of the 8th Hinton St. George Festival. They will play pieces by a range of composers including Bach and Mozart in the beautiful village Church of St. George with its fine acoustics. Sarah Bennington plays regularly with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the City of Birmingham Orchestra and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. Military Wives Choir to perform at Home Farm Fest
The Yeovilton Military Wives Choir will be performing at this year’s Home Farm Fest in June, it has been announced. Following their recent sell-out performance at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, the Military Wives Choir is sure to be a highlight on the Friday evening, known as ‘Posh Frocks & Wellies’ night. Home Farm Fest takes place from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June and is a family-friendly outdoor music festival, now in its ninth year.
