A festive feel was definitely in the air at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall near Chard recently when local ladies had great fun learning how to make their Christmas floral designs.
Watching a step-by-step demonstration first, they were shown an abundance of ideas they could use.
Some of the ladies attending had no experience at all. And despite not considering themselves to be arty or creative, with help, they all managed to bring the “wow” factor to their arrangements.
“Jackie is so good at explaining the techniques to be used and she inspires everyone with her enthusiasm and excellent demonstrations,” said Nanette Wale from Wadeford.
Pat Hamilton added: “These flower workshops are not only informative and fun; they are a really lovely experience.”
Local tutor, Jackie Nicholls from Ashville Design said: “All the ladies made stunning dual designs this time, which could be used either as a wreath for their door or a table decoration. The results never cease to amaze me; I’m so proud of them all, particularly those who were first-timers.”
“I’m now really looking forward to our flower school demonstration/party night which includes a ‘Bring and Share Buffet’ on Thursday evening, 10th December at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall. This promises to be an inspirational, festive occasion where you can watch fresh floral Christmas creations being made. The finished designs will all be raffled off at the end of the evening. Tickets are £5 each, in advance only.”
