A recent flower arranging workshop held at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall near Chard attracted a full house of local ladies having fun.
Based on a modern, continental theme they watched a step-by-step demonstration first before rolling up their sleeves and with help, produced some stunning designs to take home and show off to their family and friends.
Su Robinson from Wadeford, near Chard said: “I absolutely loved this workshop and was amazed at what I made. I learnt how to fold leaves and use these as well as flowers in my arrangement. It was such good fun and with such friendly ladies, there was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I can’t wait for the next one when we’re going to make something really different – a floral Christmas cake!”
Tutor Jackie Nicholls from Ashville Design said: “All the ladies on these workshops never fail to inspire me, particularly as the majority have had no experience at all. I live and breathe floral design and am always seeking new ideas to encourage everyone. There’s no doubt that fabulous flowers make fabulous friends!”
