Local Somerset manufacturer Probiotics International Ltd (Protexin) is delighted to announce they have raised £233.12 for charity by wearing their Christmas jumpers to work. An impressive £116.56 was raised by donations from the locally employed team with Protexin matching their total.
The money was raised for local charity, St Margaret’s Hospice, a charity that provides free care, advice and support to people with an illness that is no longer responsive to curative treatment. 1 in 3 people in Somerset will need the support of St Margaret’s Hospice in their lifetime and the charity cared for over 3,200 people last year alone.
The cheque was presented on Thursday 11th February 2016, to Mark Flower, Community Fundraiser for St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice who thanked Protexin for their support, “It takes £10million each year to run our service, so every donation is gratefully received.” Speaking of the fundraising Protexin’s HR Manager, Claire Rowswell said, “It is fantastic to have supported such a worthy cause again and it’s great to have had the whole Protexin team behind the day.”
Now with over 120 employees from local surrounding areas, the company continues to be a bright star for employment in the area and has just been voted as a ‘Best Company’ to work for, 2016. Claire added, ‘Working as a team to support a local charity is another demonstration of our employee engagement strategy and continued efforts to create a fantastic work environment and culture.”
