Do you have a small craft business? Or perhaps you have a vast collection of vintage items you wish to sell? If so Yeovil’s first Vintage Market on King George Street might be just the start for your business.
Yeovil Vintage Market is taking place on Saturday 31 May and South Somerset District Council is launching a free start up stall. A brand new market stall will be available on a first come first serve basis for anyone wishing to further establish themselves as a business, or wanting to try their hand at becoming a market trader.
The market will have a real family focus; children and adults alike will be delighted by specially selected entertainment including storytelling in the ‘Cosy tent’.
The ‘start up stall’ will sit alongside a number of established traders who will be selling a wide selection of quality goods.
The Vintage market will be running on every fourth Saturday from June until October and the start up stall will be available at each one. For a chance to win free place on the start-up stall, contact Marie Ainsworth, Neighbourhood Development Officer on 01935 462787.
Councillor Peter Gubbins, Chair of Area South Committee said, “Market trading is the oldest form of business start-up, with High Street names such as M & S having grown up from a single a market stall. SSDC is keen to enable new entrepreneurs to try their hand at trading with minimal overheads and commitments, in the hope that we will create some Yeovil based retail giants for the future”.
