The Ilminster Annual Christmas Tree Festival is a spectacular display of around 50 lit and decorated Christmas Trees. This year for the first time we have suggested, as an alternative to a decorated tree, the charity sponsors display a traditional crib scene.
This glittering show is open from Monday December 5th, 11.00a.m. – 6.00p.m; Tuesday 6th – Friday 9th, 9.30a.m. – 6.00p.m; and Saturday December 10th 9.00a.m. – 4.00 p.m. in the Minster Church in the centre of Ilminster.
Local organisations, individuals and families sponsor trees which they decorate themselves to raise money for their nominated charities.
Planning and arranging the event is the work of a dedicated team of volunteers lead by parishoners Marie Jewson and Elizabeth Ferriss.
You are invited to the short opening ceremony on Monday December 5th at 11.00a.m.. when the Reverend Nigel Done, the Mayor of Ilminster Councillor Val Keitch, the Town Crier, Mr Andrew Fox and students from local schools will be in attendance.
