Ferne Animal Sanctuary has thrown down the gauntlet to Primary School children in Somerset to see just how green their fingers are by growing the tallest sunflower. About 25 private gardens which are normally hidden from view will be open from 2 to 6pm. All the gardens are within easy walking distance of free carpark (postcode DT2 7GD). Local Ladies Make Spring Posies Galore
The Spring season was recently welcomed with enthusiasm by ladies from all over Somerset, Devon and Dorset at two flower arranging workshops held at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall near Chard. A huge variety of seasonal flowers and foliage were used to make beautiful Spring posies. The ladies watched a step-by-step demonstration first, which included showing them how to spiral their stems, followed by an easy method to securely tie them. Full story: Read more
